Day 1 -

In the morning, you will be picked up
from your Hotel by a Representative then
transferred on to a comfortable air
conditioned vehicle for your drive to Alexandria (approximately
3 hours). Once arrived in Alexandria,
you will be met by an expert Tour Guide
to begin your first day of tours to
include theCatacombs
of Kom ash-Shuqqafa (
known as the largest Roman burial site
in Egypt). You will also visitPompey’s
Pillar,
a Roman triumphal column, the largest of
its type constructed outside of the
imperial capitals of Rome and
Constantinople.

Another main attraction
for you to explore is the Citadel
of Qaitbeybuilt
in the 1480's by Sultan Qaitbey on the
site of Alexandria's ancient lighthouse
and one of the seven wonders of the
ancient World. The most famous Mosque in
Alexandria is the El-MursiAbul-Abbas
Mosque which is dedicated to the 13th
century Alexandrian Sufi Saint
el-MursiAbul Abbas and included in your
tour. Finally you will be transferred to
your Hotel in Alexandria and check in
for a pleasant overnight stay.

After an early breakfast at the Hotel,
you will check out then join your Tour
Guide for a further exciting exploration
of Alexandria. Visits will include ‘El Montaza’,

(roughly translated means ‘Park’),
constructed during the Turkish reign and
is a fascinating eclectic mix of
building and historical structures such
as the Old Clock Tower, Bridge, and two
old Hotels frequented by the wealthy in
that period.

A visit to the famous ‘Bibliotheca’
( the Alexandria Library), a huge modern
structure hosting millions of books and
is the scholarly focal point in all of
Egypt. The National Museum is a stop
where you can discover the full history
of Alexandria to include the periods of
power and reign such as Ancient
Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic
Christianity and Islamic. It also
contains an interesting collection of
old coins, jewelry and other items.

Lastly, you will also get the chance to
see the Roman
Amphitheatre,
an extremely well preserved open air
round theatre with which took over 30
years to excavate and still contains
marble seating and mosaic flooring. At
the end of your tour, you will be
transferred on to your vehicle for the
drive back to Cairo
