Itinerary:
-
Day 1: Arrival Cairo - Welcome to
land of the Pharaoh’s
-
You will be met and assisted upon
your arrival at Cairo International
Airport by your Tour Manager from
Holidays at Egypt, who will
accompany you to your hotel in Cairo for
check-in and a free welcome drink.
There you will be introduced to your
Tour Leader for your tour of Egypt,
who will explain what to expect on
your Cairo, Abu Simbel, Luxor and
Aswan tour. Your Tour Leader will be
your point of contact throughout the
whole trip, and will give you
details of how to contact him at any
time whilst in Egypt under the care
of Holidays at Egypt. Throughout
your tour of Egypt, in addition to
the Tour Leader you will meet a
variety of English-speaking Tour
Guides, who have been chosen for
their expertise on each of the areas
you are visiting. After check-in you
are free to spend the rest of the
day/evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Pyramids and Cairo Tour -
Train to Luxor
-
After breakfast you will check out
of the Hotel in Cairo at
your hotel then you will be
accompanied by your personal Tour
Guide to guide to the famous Giza
Plateau, one of the seven wonders of
the Ancient world. Here you will be
in awe of the Great
Pyramids of
Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus,
famous Sphinx and Valley
temple facing
the Great Sphinx. Following this,a
transfer to explore the Egyptian
Museum of
Antiquities including the Treasures
Room of the child King Tutankhamun.
Onwards to Old Coptic
Cairo to
visit theHanging
Church and Ben
Ezra Jewish Synagogue.
Continue driving to Old Islamic
Cairo, where you will be able to
explore Khan
El Khalili,
Cairo’s oldest Bazaar with time to
collect those all important Egyptian
hand crafted souvenirs and gifts.
Finally, you will be transferred to
Giza Railway Station to board the
Sleeper Train to Luxor.
Dinner and breakfast will be served
on board whilst overnight inside
your compartment. Awake to see the
beautiful Nile Delta passing by
before early arrival in Luxor.

Day 3: Luxor Sightseeing Tours
-
Arrive at Luxor Train
Station where you will be met and
assisted by a Representative then
transferred to enjoy a tour of three
of the most interesting tombs at
the West
Bank of
the Nile River, at the world famous Valley
of the Kings.
The magnificent tombs of the
Ancients were discovered here
(including the boy King
Tutankhamun).These tombs were carved
deep into the desert rock, richly
decorated and filled with treasures
for the afterlife of the pharaohs,
you will visit 3 tombs.(The three
tombs visited are determined by the
Egyptian Government as to preserve
them from the large flow of
visitors, therefore are rotated
throughout the year and cannot be
confirmed as to which tombs prior to
your visit). Continue the tour to
visit theHatshepsut
temple at
El Deir El Bahary, this impressive
temple dedicated to the Queen
Hatshepsut the only female pharaoh
rises out of the desert plain in a
series of terraces and merges with
the sheer limestone cliffs that
surround it. And then visit the two
colossal statues of Amenhotep III (Colossi
of Memnon)
Then visit the splendid Karnak
Temple, the largest place of
worship ever built. Its ancient name
Ipet-isut means “the most sacred of
places.” The temple, or, more
correctly, the complex of temples,
was built over more than two
thousand years by generation after
generation of pharaohs. Within the
complex, the great “Hypostyle Hall”
is an incredible forest of giant
pillars. Then you will be
transferred to the majestic Luxor
Temple which
built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II
for ritual and festivals and
dedicated to the god Amun. Evening
at leisure or an optional tour of
the Sound
and Light Show at Karnak Temple,
or free time to explore traditional Luxor City.

Day 4: Luxor - Aswan City
Sightseeing
-
After breakfast at the Hotel, you
will be transferred by
air-conditioned vehicle to Aswan(approximately
a 3 hour 30 minute drive) from Luxor.
Enjoy the scenic Nile Delta and
River views enroute, unchanged for
centuries. Upon arrival, you will be
met by a Representative and taken to
your Hotel in Aswan for check-in.

After this, you will be escorted
with your Guide to See the world
famous Aswan High
Dam,
an engineering miracle when it was
built in the 1960s. It contains 18
times the material used in the Great
Pyramid of Cheops; Following this a
visit to see the granite quarries
hosting theUnfinished
Obelisk which
supplied the ancient Egyptians with
most of the hard stone used in
pyramids and Temples.Then a final
tour to visit the majestic Philae
Temple,
originally of Nubian culture. that
was dedicated to the Goddesses Isis
and Hathor. Sail and move around
Elephantine Island by a felucca
boat.
Back to hotel and overnight in
Aswan.

Day 5: Tour to Abu Simbel - Train to
Cairo
-
Breakfast box from the Hotel in Aswan at
3:30am to begin your extra special
excursion to theTemples
of Abu Simbel.
Approximately a 3 hour 30 minute
drive one way from Aswan to Abu
Simbel by a comfortable private
air-conditioned vehicle. Upon
arrival at Abu Simbel, you will be
totally amazed at the sheer size of
the impressive Temple of Ramses II
which is dedicated to the four
universal Gods Ptah, Re-Harakhte,
Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II. The
second Temple is dedicated to
Nefertari, the beloved wife of
Ramesses II. Then return to Aswan
Railway Station for your departure
to Cairo. Sleeping train from Aswan
to Cairo is about 14 hours with
dinner and breakfast onboard with
ample time to sleep. Overnight on
board the train.

Day 6: Cairo Optional Excursions

Breakfast aboard Sleeper Train
before arriving Giza Train Station
in Cairo where
you will be met and assisted by
Holidays at Egypt Representative who
will transfer you to your Hotel for
free leisure time. The Hotel will
allow check in as soon as is
possible. A full day ahead to either
relax at your Hotel, explore the City
of Cairo and
it’s sites with optional tours to
visitStep
Pyramids of
King Zoser in Sakkara and Memphis,
Nile Boat cruise with dinner and
traditional Music and Dance show and
more. Please ask your representative
for details. Overnight stay at your
hotel in Cairo.

Day 7: Cairo to Alexandria Optional
Tour

A free day in Cairo or a highly
recommended day optional tour to
Greco- Roman Alexandria, to visit
its famous sites of Qaitbay Fort,
built in the 15th century by Sultan
Qaitbay, Alexandria's ancient
Lighthouse, and the much-acclaimed
Alexandria Library (known as the
Bibliotheca). A visit to a Roman
Cemetery cut out of the rock, and
known as the ‘Catacombs’. Return for
overnight in Cairo.
