Day 1: Hurghada to
Abydos and Dendera
Temples - Luxor
-
An early breakfast at
your Hotel in Hurghada before
being collected by your
expert English speaking
Tour Guide and driver in
an air conditioned
vehicle to start your
journey by road to
Abydos (approximately 4
hours.
-
On arrival, your
Tour Guide will escort
you to the
Temple of Abydos which
was the head of the God
Osiris- the God of the
Underworld and part of
his body was buried
there according to the
legend of ancient
Egyptians,. In Abydos
you will visit the
famous Temple
of King Seti I –
the founder of Abydos
Temple which was
completed by his son
King Ramses II.
-
The
beauty of this Temple
almost feels like an
apology and dedication
to the following Gods
Osiris, Isis, Horus,
Amun Ra, Mut and
Khonsu.
-
After this, you will
continue on to Dendera
(approximately 1 hour 15
minutes) to reach
Dendera Temple which is
dedicated to Goddess
Hathor- cow headed woman
and known as the Goddess
of Love. The Temple
dates back to 125 B.C
and it is quite unique
due to the fact that the
roof is still intact and
visitors can admire the
beautiful ceiling which
depicts the hours of the
day and night as well as
the journey of the sun,
moon and the stars
across the sky.
-
One of
its ceilings is
decorated with a plaster
cast of the signs of the
zodiac. Not only that
but this Temple has the
only relief which
represented Queen
Cleopatra and her son
Caesarean.
-
Lunch will be included
during the day, then you
will drive to Luxor City
(approximately 1 hour 20
minutes). On arrival in Luxor,
you will check in to
your Hotel with free
time in the evening to
relax or take any
optional tours such as
the Sound and Light Show
at Karnak
Temple,
or a Kallesh Ride (horse
and carriage) into Luxor

Day 2: Luxor West Bank
Sites - Back to Hurghada
-
Check out of your Hotel
in Luxor after breakfast
with your expert Tour
Guide to the

at Deir El Madina, an
ancient Egyptian village
which once belonged and
was inhabited by the
artisans who worked on
the tombs in the
Valley of the Kings during
the 18th to 20th
dynasties. The workmen
living there were named
‘Servants in the Place
of Truth’.
-
During 1922,
archaeologist Bernard
Bruyère began excavating
the site. This
excavation revealed one
of the best accounts of
community life in the
ancient world that spans
almost four hundred
years.
-
Moving on to visit and
explore the Asasif Tombs
next to the
Temple of Hatshepsut,
not often visited due to
lack of visitors not
being one of the main
publicised sites. The
tombs were built for
dignitaries during the
25th and 26th Dynasties
when Nubian Kings were
ruling. Whilst the tombs
did not survive in tact
of their original
structures, there still
remains some fine
reliefs and paintings
-
A break for lunch
before your final tour
of the day to see the
wonderful unchanged
history and artifacts of
Howard Carter House and
Museum.
-
It has now been
restored to its former
state by the famous
Egyptologist and
Archaeologist DrZahiHawass in memory
of Howard Carter.
-
Take a
fascinating insight into
the life of Howard
Carter whilst moving
around the house with a
real Howard Carter

a holographic Howard
Carter who transports
you back to the time of

opening of the tomb of
Tutankhamun.
