Our English

Guide will pick
you up from your
hotel in Luxor for
a day tour in
Luxor to visit
MedinatHabu
Temple, Tombs of
the Nobles and
Luxor Museum.
Your first visit
of the day will
be to the
Temple of
MedinatHabu which
is the Mortuary
Temple of
Ramesses III.
-
It
is best known as
the source of
inscribed
reliefs
depicting the
advent and
defeat of the
Sea Peoples
during the reign
of
RamessesIII.
-
During
the Coptic
Period in Egypt,
there was a
church inside
the structure of
the Temple which
has now been
removed. Some
carvings on the
main wall of the
Temple have been
altered by
coptic carvings.
After this you
will move on to
the Valley
(Tombs) of the
Nobles, the The
Theban
Necropolis
namely the Tombs
of the
Nobles.Many
numerous tombs
are located here
with burial
places of some
who were the
most powerful
courtiers and
people of the
ancient City.
-
Known to host as
many as 415
tombs, some were
said to have
been lost
through not as
yet been
located. In the
period of the
New Kingdom,
the tombs had
inscriptions of
the e tomb
owners on them
with some having
a short prayer.
-
Then you will
move on to
complete your
day tour at the
Luxor Museum on the
East Bank of
Luxor along the
newly
refurbished
Corniche which
hosts an amazing
display of
pottery,
jewelry,
furniture,
statues and
stelae which
were created by
the Brooklyn
Museum of New
York.
-
They
include a
carefully
selected
assortment of
items from the
Theban Temples
and Necropolis.
Then the new
extension of the
building called
the New Kingdom,
is dedicated to
war machines
featuring
Tutankhamun’s
war chariot.
-
Best of all
there are also
two royal
Mummies, that of
Ahmosis I and
what is believed
to be that of
Ramses I.
Finally you will
be transferred
back to your
hotel in Luxor.
